Screening Log: 20 December 2011
1. Remaining +/- 40 minutes of /Meek’s Cutoff/ (2010, Kelly Reichardt) [Netflix Instant]
2. The Artist (2011, Michael Hazanavicius) Charming — and yes, I was thrilled to sit in a packed theater of people reverently watching a silent feature — but this needs a lot less self-pity and a climax closer to The Last Command. [advance screening]
3. /House of Tolerance/Pleasures/ (2011, Bertrand Bonello) Just making sure. And I was right the first time. Or wrong, as it was actually better on second go. Also, this. Play it loud. [screener]
