Screening Log: Weekend of 3 February 2012
1. /Werckmeister Harmonies/ (2000, Béla Tarr) [repertory screening]
2. The Prefab People (1982, Béla Tarr) [repertory screening]
3. Sátántangó (1994, Béla Tarr) My fourth time, don’t you know. Easy to forget that this is ”the funny Tarr.” You know, except for the part where it’s the saddest thing you’ve ever seen. [repertory screening]
4. The Super Bowl. Sort of. Not really. I was drinking and talking about The Room and death. [network television]
Oh, and I DJed again. Matt Fletcher, Doug Sell and I spun “dad records” during the brunch hours, although my dad never owned most of these LPs, and has never even heard of Cymande. Here’s my set; the first section is, yes, kind of a downer:
